Paul Catherall Greetings Cards
January 19, 2010
I’ve always loved architecture and the mid 20th Century style of poster art both of which are captured in the work of Paul Catherall.
Renowned for his crisp clean linocuts of architectural landmarks this London based illustrator and printmaker has now allowed four of his images to be reproduced as high quality greetings cards.
The featured linocuts on the cards are the Tate Gallery, South Bank, Battersea Power Station and St Paul’s viewed from across the Millenium Bridge. Each card is printed on FSC approved board and wrapped in a bio-degradeable wrapper.
more details of the greetings cards can be found here : http://www.onebrowncow.co.uk/stationery-cards/paul-catherall/cat_138.html or if you want to find out more about Paul’s work visit his own site here: http://www.paulcatherall.com/

Edward Bawden Greetings Cards
October 18, 2009
Between 1981 and 1989 Edward Bawden donated the contents of his Studio to the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery in Bedford. A major new exhibition at the gallery sees much of his work on display for the first time. The exhibition runs from 3rd October 2009 – 31 January 2010.
To celebrate the exhibition the gallery commissioned Mark Hearld who is inspired by Bawden’s work to produce a limited edition print ‘Rooster and Railway Carriage.’ This image is now also available as a greetings card along with a selection of other images from the Edward Bawden collection.
Both the Mark Hearld card and the cards reproduced from Bawden’s designs, which will see some additional images in the near future, are now available to purchase from us on-line. http://bit.ly/1wX0bZ

New St Jude’s Sketchbooks by Angie Lewin
October 6, 2009
St Jude’s have added two new cover designs to their popular range of large square format sketchbooks. Both cover designs are by Angie Lewin, one is called Ellipse which is a simple pattern of mustard, teal and green ovals against an antique white background. The other cover design is called Seedheads and is classic Angie Lewin pattern in pale blues and light greys against a very light grey background, this one we are sure is going to be very popular with fans of Angie’s work.
Made in England, both notebooks measure 21cm x 21cm and contain 96 pages of plain paper and are 100% recycled. Finishing touches: bound with a brown paper belly band.
We offer the full range of St Jude’s stationery including these new sketchbooks here: http://www.onebrowncow.co.uk/stationery-cards/st-judes-stationery/cat_99.html
Also from Angie Lewin are two new greetings card designs, Autumn Spey and 5 Trees (shown below) see our Angie Lewin pages for these new additions http://www.onebrowncow.co.uk/stationery-cards/angie-lewin/cat_57.html
Andrew Pavitt – new greetings card designs
October 6, 2009
Four great new greetings cards from Andrew Pavitt have just arrived. All are in his unique geometically influnced style and all four cards feature the countryside.
Silflay, a predominately olive green design, shows a hare at the edge of a field with hay ricks and long Autumn shadows in the background. Harvest is a golden brown design of crops and insects. Hello Mr Magpie is a heavily stylised countryside scene with a Magpie gathering nesting material in the foreground while a steam train passes by in the background. Almost There – you really feel for the lone cyclist making their way, head down, across a stretch of open coutryside.
All cards are 12 x 17 cm sold seperately and printed on Elemental Chlorine free board from managed forests. See our site for full details http://www.onebrowncow.co.uk/stationery-cards/art-angels/cat_62.html?page=1 and other cards reproduced from images by Andrew Pavitt
Eames Conversational Cushion
October 2, 2009
Just arrived with us this week is a small selection of limited edition cushions including the Eames inspired conversational cushion.
Available in green or blue the Eames inspired cushion draws from the diologue which took place between Ray and Charles on the ‘Home’ show unveiling of the LCW chair in 1956. The chair itself features within the pattern of cushion cover which is heavily influenced by graphic design of the period.
These cushions are limited to an edition of just 250 of each colour. Printed using non-toxic waterbased dyes onto soft faux suede with plain white faux suede backs and feather filled pads.
We also have some of the limited edition cushions by Jules including the Girl cushion which featured in Elle Decoration and cushions with the very colourful designs of Catilina Estrada.
See our website for more details and further pictures http://www.onebrowncow.co.uk/soft-furnishings/limited-edition-collection/cat_127.html
Stop press: The Eames cushion has just featured in the November edition of Living Etc magazine.
Clockwork Robin and Christmas Stegosaurus
September 30, 2009
Looking for alternative Christmas cards this year? how about this quirky range of linocuts from Flytrap Publishing featuring some of the most unusual Christmas themes we’ve seen. Our favourite is the Christmas Stegosaurus, a dinosaur dressed as a Christmas tree, closely followed by the Clockwork Robin which was inspired by a child’s tin toy.
The entire range is the work of one family of illustrators and artists who’s work spans some four decades. The charming children playing cards including Snowball Fight and Strolling With Dolls are reproduced from 1920s pen and ink drawings by Sylvia Venus, while the Linocuts by Tony and Sarah Venus are from as recently as the 1990s.
Printed in the UK and supplied individually wrapped with white envelope.
